hurricane victim relief
The 2017 hurricane season has been particularly devastating for the United States. Parts of Texas and Florida have sustained significant structural and flood damage due to hurricanes Harvey and Irma. It will take months, and in some cases, years to restore parts of Houston, Dallas and the Keys to their former state. As Christians, we are called to respond with love, aid and support, both physically and spiritually. Below are some great and practical ways that we can show the love of Christ and live out the gospel, even from many away.
support Texas and Florida
Pray for those who have had to abandon their homes, their belongings, and their lives with nowhere to go. Pray for those who have been unable to evacuate and are still stranded. Ask that God would provide for them and comfort them.
Pray for the first responders, disaster relief volunteers and all others who are putting themselves at great risk to rescue those who are stranded. Pray for their safety and protection, their endurance, and that of their families as well.
Pray for those who are grieving, who have lost loved ones or suffered injury themselves, and those who have had their entire lives uprooted. Ask that God be their source of comfort and strength in the difficult times ahead.
We believe in the power of prayer and we believe that prayer changes things. If you are unable to support Texas and Florida physically or financially, please support them spiritually by sincerely praying for their recovery and well-being.
